Did you know you can use Facebook to get you customers? (We do!).
In previous posts I’ve shared with you that home buyers want to know if you have the technical expertise and communication skills to help them choose the right home. No one wants to be stuck with a house that will suck away their life savings in repairs. And you also now know that home buyers want to be able to know you, like you and trust you .
We’ve talked about how you can begin the know me, like me, trust me relationship using your website and YouTube but those ways are really one-dimensional. In other words, the home buyer only saw you as the “business professional.” That was good but it wasn’t the complete picture we want home buyers to see.
Through social media like Facebook , home buyers can start to see you as a “real person” – as a father, friend and fellow citizen who is liked and admired. They learn more about you than just your profession. They see your background, your likes and hobbies.
When people just see you on the job, they only see one side of you. They think you are out to just get their money. That’s definitely not what you want them to think. No, you want them to know you more. People want to be able to trust, like and get to know who they are dealing with. Give them that so they choose your firm for the inspection and so you can command a higher price for it.
In order to really have Facebook work for you, here are some tips . . .
- First, fill out your profile completely and update it often.
- Post on your wall often and comment on others, so people get to know you better.
- When people are on social networks, like Facebook, they want one of two things; they want to be informed or they want to be entertained. So make your posts both, if possible.
- Don’t let your kids post for you. Keep it professional.
- Remember the rules of polite conversation, don’t bring up religion, politics or her.
- Keep in mind you want to build a network of local folk who can be a referral source in your local area, not somewhere else in the country (we can show you how).
- Also, Facebook limits the number of friends that you can have to 5,000. If you follow the strategies we teach at home inspector startup and growth it won’t take you long to achieve that many quality friends.
- Start a fan page and keep it fresh. Search engines will pick it up
- Remember to comment on other people’s posts and entice them to post comments onto yours.
